Why All Kids Should Play Sport

Have you ever played a sport? If so, you probably noticed  a big difference from before and after you started.

One of these differences would have been personal skills. When I say skills, I don’t mean hitting a ball with a tennis racket. I mean skills like teamwork, perseverance, self-confidence, social skills and much more. These  qualities are very good to use later on in life.

Staying healthy and fit is another huge importance. If you think that ‘Sloth’ is not a true sin, stop right there! According to ‘Healthline’, if you play a sport, it will reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. It also helps with your mind. It can help with stress, anxiety and depression.

Lucky for you, there are many different sports that suits different types of people.

For example: If you are an individual person,, there are quite a few sports that allow you to work on your own such as, swimming, single tennis and athletics. But if you are very social and you travel in a pack, then there are plenty of team sports to choose from. If you like to express yourself a lot, then dance is for you! There are also many different types of dance like, ballet, hip-hop, tap, contemporary and jazz.

That is my opinion on why all kids should play sport.

100 Word Challenge – …but I didn’t understand the instructions…

It was a cloudy day at Smith’s lumber mill, every day Chloe had to deal with her neighbour’s loud chainsaws at around 4 in the morning. She was always very annoyed why she moved into the house she was living in. At the auction, the immensely tall wooden fence blocked out the vision of next door and little did she know she was moving in next to a lumber mill!

As she sat on her soft warm bed she thought about what a lumber mill would be like. She pictured sawing the bark off the cut tree and having to go and talk to the boss and exclaim your usual excuse : “but I didn’t understand the instructions…”.

A scam called Ransomware: a title of BAD RABBIT comes up on your screen and threatens to lock your computer if you don’t give $400 to them. They will give you a timer with a specific time for you to pay the money.

Another scam is (in 2017) hackers posted pictures of puppies with cute eyes. This hack was specifically aimed at primary school children. They said that they were for sale, that nobody wanted them and they were very cheap. 7.8% of the people in the world fell for it and the amount that people lost altogether was around 90 million dollars.

Online, some people had been asking their friends for passwords with the reason that they are friends and they can trust each other. And 12% of the kids gave them the passwords. Later on, in the year they hacked their accounts.

This article was about 3 natural disasters that happened in Australia.

People were warned to stay inside their homes because a cyclone was believed to hit that day. Up to 70 homes were destroyed in a bushfire in Tathra in NSW.

I understand why they would have closed all schools and businesses the day the cyclone hit.

If a bushfire was happening in Victoria why could people see balls of fire?

100 Word Challenge – The Lioness of Fire Desert

“You are to throw the flyers along with the newspapers on your paper round this morning Oliver. Every single house, do you understand?” Mr Footstool said sternly. He was one of those scary men that was bulgy and oh very tall and looks like he will crush you to bits. Well he was right there in front of me, well… over me really.

“Y…y…y…yes sir, u… b…b…but it’s Sunday. I only do the paper round on Saturdays.” I said shakily.                                                                                                                                          “Is that what they teach kids now?! Well our play is going to be spectacular and I say and that means that you have to do as I say! Go now!”

B.T.N – The Ring of Fire

This B.T.N article was about two natural disasters that happened in two parts of thr world that were lined up in the ring of fire. On September the 29th 2009, a big tsunami hit Samoa. One day later, a big earthquake hit Sumatra. Hundreds were injured and killed.

I understand why not many earthquakes showed up on the map in Australia.

How could a tsunami be caused by an earthquake that happened on the sea floor in the middle of the ocean? How can the plates move oround if they are all connected?
